Welcome!

Gizzim Community Organization exists due to the understanding of the positive impact of photography in the society to change lives. We work with refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. We also work with young vulnerable youth from Kenya. Being deeply moved by the stories of these youth was the reason why the founder and director was encouraged to venture into photography with the youth, assisted by volunteers.

Why we exist

To introduce the youth to photography by empowering them to become leaders in their communities by telling their stories through the lens of the camera. They will bring remarkable change that will go a long way in defining the place and position of photography in the global front.

What we believe

The youths have the potential to bring solutions to problems affecting them and the society. By the use of the camera, they can disseminate information about humanity and nature, record the visible world and extend human knowledge and understanding. Photography has aptly been called the most important invention since the printing press.
